Shilpa and Aditya grew up in South India; listening to early morning Suprabhatam, awakening with the fragrance of Mogra flowers tied to their mother’s hair bun, relishing idli sambar with coconut chutney & filter coffee, and so much used to their respective lingos; they ended up meeting miles away in Toronto.
The bride Shilpa is from Hyderabad – the city that is awake even in the night. She moved to the US in 2008 to pursue her Masters in finance. After a stint as a Trade Analyst for a couple of years, she pursued her interest in retail analytics in New York and currently works for a retail-consulting firm in New York.
The groom Aditya is from Chennai. He is quintessential smart, fun and adventurous guy. He moved to Montreal in 2007 and did his MBA at McGill. He works for a start up in Montreal, isn’t it cool? He should have found his work fun and adventurous indeed at a start-up, so much like the way he is.
After a strenuous long week, a blissful weekend arrived. It was the season when Summer and Spring were coming across. Shilpa packed her bags to Toronto to visit her cousin, while Aditya started off to meet his friends who lived in Toronto. And what next? Love found them both, in Toronto! They began to talk and their “Love in Toronto” clicked like fire.
All day play and no work is as bad as all day work and no play. So back to their jobs, Shilpa and Aditya both waited for weekends, as we all do for various reasons. Starting from July, Aditya travelled every weekend to New York from Montreal to meet Shilpa. This continued for almost a season until he finally proposed to her.
It was Fall, and the leaves shed, just like their feelings for each other left their hearts till each other’s ears in the form of words. Thus expressing love in October. It was a special weekend. Aditya kept teasing Shilpa by gifting her a ring box with a candy inside. Yet, towards the end of their weekend date, he amazed her with a beautiful piece of ring in the box. And obviously it was a yes from her.
The last season of their love arrived; their wedding date was fixed to be 9th Feb, 2015. The series of occasions began and the 4 seasons of their love began again.
It was a traditional Tamil Brahmin wedding, hosted in Hyderabad. Fun, excitement and craze did not disappear until the last moment of bidaai. The energy and positive vibes brought in by both the families in all the wedding events, made these the moments to cherish for the couple.
The weekend started off with Cocktails and Sangeet at Ashiana in Hyderabad. What best can make everyone go high, more than the loud music and exotic cocktails.
The tempo reached the highest the next morning at the wedding venue, Chowmahallah Palace. The palace in itself was beautiful and when decorated for their Reception it looked as beautiful as a bride, and yes of course Shilpa looked nothing less than a Princess wearing the ensemble of love, jewelery of commitment, shoes of life and make up by Tamanna Rooz. The guests had a feast literally with food served by Nimantran caterers.
The big day, the wedding ceremony, followed the next morning at Ashiana. They preferred to keep this an intimate affair inviting only close family and friend. The venue was beauitfully embellished by Sanjana in a South Indian style. The bright flowers meticulously arranged just made the whole event even more magical to Shilpa and Aditya. Shilpa’s makeup was done by Tanuja from Bubbles Salon and she preferred to keep it simple and natural.
The wedding events, the fun, the lights, and the beauty indeed with great detail were captured by Pixel8ed, a Hyderabad based candid photographers, lead by Namrata Motihar Rupani and Pooja Dattani. Namrata and Pooja captured the dream from the newlywed couple’s eyes into their lenses. The videography was captured by new-comers Rock Paper Scissors Films, who did a fantastic job filming the wedding. They did a wonderful job piecing together many different moments to really capture the love, emotion, and beauty of the day in this short trailer.
Ikron from Rock Paper Scissors Films says
Even though Shilpa and Aditya’s wedding was the first one we shot, we already knew that it would be one of a kind. Four weddings later, that still stands true.
And lastly the couple quotes,
The wedding was planned and executed by both our families and according to us this is what adds a personal touch to our wedding!
The SayShaadi team wishes Shilpa and Aditya a very happy married life!
